Commandant Eweka pledges to perenially support NDLEA in their fight against drug proliferation and substance abuse amongst others in Lagos state.
The Commandant, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps(NSCDC) Lagos State Command, Commandant Eweka Douglas Okoro received the State Commander, National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Lagos State Command, today, Tuesday, 30th November, 2021, Barr. Callys Alumona, in his office, at 13:12hrs at the Lagos State Command Headquarters, at Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos.
The new State Commander, NDLEA, Lagos State Command, stated firstly that he deemed it necessary to visit the NSCDC Lagos State Command as his first point of call, because of the laudable achievements of the Command in recent times and the cordial inter-agency collaboration between the two security agencies in Lagos State.
The Commander, NDLEA, Lagos State Command, also further sought to partner, collaborate, synergise and solidify the existing cordial relationship, between the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps and the NDLEA in Lagos State, as a reputable law enforcement agency, in order to fulfill their statutory mandates and functions in the state.

However, the Commandant, NSCDC, Lagos State Command, Commandant Eweka Okoro, in his response, during the visit, reiterated the position and charge of the Commandant General (CG), Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, CG Ahmed Abubakar Audi phd, mni, on inter-agency collaboration between the NSCDC and other services in the nation. Therefore, he assured the State Commander, NDLEA, Lagos State Command, of a good working relationship in the state.
In the same vein, Commandant Eweka stated that the relationship between the two organizations (NSCDC and NDLEA) can be said to be historical and remarkable. He as well seized the opportunity to share good, achievable and credible intelligence with the Commander, NDLEA, Lagos State Command, and other members of his team during the visit. He also said that the Command will always handover to the NDLEA, any suspected drug law offenders apprehended by the Command’s operatives during their routine operations or otherwise.
Finally, Commandant Eweka and the State Commander, NDLEA, Lagos State Command agreed to work and partner together, in order to eradicate proliferation of drugs or substance abuses and many other related offences connected to such in Lagos state. This he said “could be achieved through the deployments of several well planned strategies, which include but not limited to robust intelligence gatherine, routine operations with arrest of offenders, in relations with such offences and violations against drug laws, as stipulated by the NDLEA Act.
