KASTINA STATE POLICE COMMISSIONER BUBA SANUSI BRIEFS THE PRESS

Good afternoon Gentlemen of the Press. I have the pleasure to welcome you on behalf of the Commissioner of Police, Katsina state Command, CP Sanusi Buba, psc, to Katsina state Police Command Headquarters to abreast you with the recent achievements made by the Command in the fight against crime and criminality in the state as reflected hereunder:

ARREST OF REPENTANT BANDITS WHO DISGUISE AS GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS AND COMMIT ARMED ROBBERY AND CATTLE RUSTLING: On 25/08/2021 at about 1230hrs, the Command succeeded in arresting the trio of one Abdullahi Mai-Rafi, ‘M’, aged 43yrs of Kofar Marusa Lowcost, Katsina, (2) Abbas Haruna alias Dogo-Abbas, ‘M’, aged 34yrs of Filin Polo Quarters, Katsina and (3) Usman Hassan, ‘M’, alias Manu, aged 50yrs of Ganuwa village, Charanchi LGA of Katsina state, repentant notorious bandits, working in collaboration with the Katsina state government and security agencies.

The fact of the matter was that on 11/08/2021 at about 11:00hrs, the trio went to Danmarke forest, Ingawa LGA, with a motor vehicle Toyota, Camry, ash in colour, with registration number DE 631 LED, attacked a herder, one Alhaji Gide Suleiman of Malumafashi LGA while grazing his animals, with machetes and sticks, threatened him and his boys that they were from the office of Special Adviser on security to His Excellency, with a false allegation that their brother one Sa’idu had robbed one Lawal of his herds and that they should either produce the said Saidu or bring hundred (100) cows.

After some scuffles, the suspects succeeded in robbing the said Alhaji Gide Suleiman of his twenty (20) cows valued seven million, five hundred and fifty thousand naira (N7,550,000:00K) with the intention of taking them to the said Lawal as compensation for his stolen cows as falsely alleged by them. They also searched and robbed them of the sum of forty thousand (N40,000:00) naira and four (4) GSM handsets. Subsequently, on 24/08/2021 at about 0730hrs, the same syndicate of Abdullahi Mai-Rafi and three (3) others, attacked the complainant on the same false allegation and attempted to rob him of another set of twenty cows and some sheep, but nemesis caught up with them when they were rounded up and arrested by the Command. In the course of investigation, suspects confessed to the commission of the offences.

The Gang leader Abdullahi Mai-Rafi confessed to have conspired with the others and sold all the cows at Dankama market, Kaita LGA of the state. Two cows and the sum of four hundred and forty-four thousand naira were recovered as exhibits from their possessions. It may interest you to know that Abdullahi Mai-Rafi, was a notorious bandit but repented and was working with the state government under the office of S. A. Security.


ARREST OF ECONOMIC SABOTUERS AND SUPPLIERS OF FUEL TO BANDITS\AIDING AND ABETTING BANDITIRY.
On The 31/08/2021 at about 1111hrs, based on credible intelligence, the Command succeeded in arresting one Aminu Adulrazak, `M` aged 30yrs of Tudun Yan lihidda Quarters, Katsina conveying sixty six (66) jerry cans filled with fuel in an unregistered Peugeot 504 at Kofar Guga Garage believed to be a supply to bandits hibernating in the forest. ARREST OF A SUSPECTED KIDNAPPER AND INFORMANT TO BANDITS: On 23/08/2021 at about 1500hrs, the Command succeeded in arresting one Abubakar Abdullahi, ‘M’, aged 30yrs of Allah Nadogara village, Malumfashi LGA, a notorious suspected kidnapper and informant to bandit. On 25/05/2021 at about 01:00hrs, suspect criminally conspired with others (now at large) attacked the house of one Abubakar Aliyu at Nadogara village, Malumfashi and kidnapped his little son, one Yusuf Aliyu, ‘M’, aged 5yrs to unknown destination and kept him in the bush for thirty-two (32) days. And when the complainant went to pay ransom of fifty thousand (N50,000) naira ransom, he was also held captive as the ransom was too meagre as alleged by the bandits.

The Complainant stated that he spent nine (9) days in captivity before he later escaped along with his little son. In the course of investigation, the suspect Abubakar Abdullahi was trailed and arrested and confessed to the commission of the offence along with his cohorts (now at large). Investigation is ongoing
ARREST OF NOTORIOUS BANDITS AND CATTLE RUSTLERS: On 17/08/2021 at about 15:00hrs, based on a tip off, the Command succeeded in arresting the duo of one Bala Abdu alias Medele, ‘m’, aged 40yrs and Halliru Tukur, ‘m’, aged 24yrs both of Dunkula village Safana LGA, notorious bandits and cattle rustlers terrorizing Safana LGA and its environs. Nemesis caught up with them when they were accosted at Runka market in possession of stolen ram. In the course of investigation, suspect bala Abdu Medele confessed to have participated in series of banditry and cattle rustling activities in Safana and its environs.
ARREST OF INFORMERS TO BANDITS: On 8/08/2021 at about 1400hrs, based on a tip off, policemen attached to Safana Division succeeded in arresting the duo of one Mani Yahaya `M` aged 38 years and Isuhu Usman `M` aged 35 years all of Tsaskiye village via Safana LGA Katsina. The duo are strongly suspected to be providing information to the camp of two notorious bandits (1) Ya`u `M` and (2) Mallam Aibo hibernating in Rugu forest to carry out attacks on Tsaskiya and Ummadau village, Safana LGA respectively. Investigation is ongoing.

ARREST OF TWO SUSPECTED KIDNAPPERS AND ARMED BANDITS: 28/08/2021t about 1730hrs base on a tip off policemen attached to Danja Division succeeded in arresting the duo of (1) Alhaji Amanda Saleh `M` AND (2) Alh Shu`aibu Saleh `M` aged 35 years all of Kamfanin Fulani Mai Lafiya, a Fulani settlement via Sheme village Faskari LGA. The suspects are notorious kidnappers who recently escaped from sheme village and relocated to Rafin Gora village in Danja LGA to avoid being arrested. Investigation is ongoing.


ARREST OF A CATTLE RUSTLER AND RECOVER OF TWO RUSTLLED COWS: On the 17/08/2021 at about 1520hrs base on a tip off, a team of policemen attached to operation Sharan Daji succeeded in arresting one Muntari Yusuf `M` age 40yrs of Lugge village a notorious cattle rustler in possession of 3 rustled cows. In the course of investigation, suspect confessed to be under the command of one Sani Muhudinge a notorious hibernating in the forest who sent him to deliver the said cows to one Mallam Bello `M` of Dan bafashi village to sell at Runka market. He further stated that the said Muhudinge sent him about four times to Gusami market at Zamfara state to dispose rustled cows. Investigation is ongoing.
