NEW OGUN CP LANRE BANKOLE PAYS VISIT TO AIG KOKUMO

The new Commissioner of Police in Ogun state, CP Lanre Bankole has today paid a courtesy visit to his superior, the Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of Zone 2 (comprising Lagos and Ogun commands), AIG Johnson Kokumo.

This is coming only two days after entrance into his new office as earlier reported by Trek Africa Newspaper. He was accompanied by a Board Member of the Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF), Dr. Ayo Ogunsan.

Not new to Ogun state, CP Bankole was one-time Area Commander, Sagamu Ogun State, as well as zonal sports officer. He has also served at different times as Divisional Police Officer in Abigi, Sango, Agbara and Owode Egba.

The new CP joined the Nigeria Police as a cadet assistant superintendent of police in March 1990, and has worked in various capacity in different parts of the country such as Akwa Ibom Police Command, Ebonyi State Police Command, Port Authority Police Command as well as Ogun State Police Command.

The graduate of English language from University of Lagos got promoted to the rank of Commissioner of Police in June 2021 and was posted as CP Interpol Force Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, Alagbon Lagos, where he served until his current appointment. Before then, he was on the rank of Deputy Commissioner of Police where he worked in the Interpol section of FCIID Abuja as DC Administration and investigation from 2017 to 2020.

The new CP has attended various professional courses within and outside Nigeria, notable among them are; junior command course, intermediate Command course, strategic leadership and Command course at Police Staff College, Jos, Plateau State. He also attended Financial crime course at Administrative staff college (ASCON) Badagry as well as United Nations logistics officer’s course at Koffi Annan peace keeping& Training Centre, Ghana. He is an holder of Bachelor of Arts Degree in English and literature from University of Lagos. He also has LLB in law from Olabisi Onabanjo University Ago Iwoye and BL from Nigeria Law school Lagos.

CP Lanre Bankole hails from Lagos Island Local Government Area of Lagos State and he is happily married and the marriage is blessed with children.
