On: April 4, 2023 - In: Headlines News - No comments

Politics and public service for Jagunmolu Jamiu Omoniyi FCA, Ogun State Honourable Commissioner for Housing is a call to serve and not a do-or-die affair. That’s why he always dropped his ambition to represent the good people of Yewa North/Imeko Afon Federal Constituency in the lower chamber of the National Assembly whenever the party leadership prevailed on him.
He is one person who believed so much in the will of Almighty God, party supremacy and consensus opinion. Little did he know that his sacrifice for the party in Ogun State will pay off in the long-run.
Omoniyi working career started from being an Account Clerk with Berger Paints Nigeria Plc, rising to an Executive Management position of a Credit Controller, with responsibility for creating and managing the company’s credit functions. He later joined Abbey Mortgage Bank Plc as a Regional Executive for Northern Region overseeing branches before floating his business conglomerate C2Q Property & Investment Company Limited with presence in United Kingdom and Sierra Leone, a Company which has grown in leaps and bounds as a foremost Real Estate Development Company with special recognition for spearheading the Federal Integrated Housing Scheme in Nigeria, delivering multiple thousands of affordable homes over 10 years under his Headship.
When Governor Abiodun emerged in 2019, the trained Chattered Accountant was top on the list of those he wanted to work with but in what capacity was not revealed. Owing to his background in Accounting and Finance, many thought he was going to be a nip in the bud as a Commissioner for Finance but the Governor identified him to be fit enough in the Housing Ministry and was appointed the Commissioner on 10th January, 2020.
Earlier, Jagunmolu Akande Omoniyi was appointed as Special Adviser to the Governor of Ogun State on Housing on the 12th July, 2019. Furthermore, he was appointed Member of the Board of Directors, Gateway Mortgage Bank in November, 2019 and Member, Ogun State Project Review Committee that scrutinized the State’s project award, implementation and documentation from 2012 – 2019.
Omoniyi is a Real Estate connoisseur with vast experience, building numerous Real Estate projects within the Abuja Metropolis coupled with his background as the son of a bricklayer who worked in hand with his father learning the nitty-gritty of construction. For the Yewa-born politician, it was like putting a fish in the river. This caused him to thrive excellently well in the history of the Ministry, recording unprecedented success. We also gathered that he carried all critical stakeholders in the sector along and ensured team play spirit where everyone’s idea will be taken, debated and adopted with necessary modification.
This we gathered also enhanced the success of Ogun State Ministry of Housing today. At a point, detractors raised eyebrows praying he does not succeed but to the chagrin of the naysayers, he was able to apply the knowledge he had gathered over the years to run the Ministry smoothly.
As the first tenure of Governor Dapo Abiodun winds up, the Ministry of Housing performed excellently well in putting the Dapo Abiodun-led administration on the world map with numerous housing projects ongoing and completed. Jagunmolu ensured public and private partnerships in delivering affordable housing in Ogun with a seamless allocation procedure and pocket-friendly payment plan.

Despite the Nigerian Policing profession being one of the most underrated with lots of backlash from people in the country, some men in the Nigerian Police force have carved a niche for themselves as fine police officers who stick to the rudiments of the job, one of such officer is AIG Frank Mba. Since he was commissioned into the police in 1993 coming out as the best-graduating cadet his path to greatness became clearer that he was going to be a poster boy for the police force.

His quest for more knowledge stands him out as well when many of his colleagues were busy with frivolities, Frank returned back to the classroom where he studied at the University of Lagos to become a lawyer. He didn’t stop at that he went further to the University of Dundee, Scotland where he obtained an LLM in Law among other degrees. With his intimidating resume and background as a fine police officer with high cerebral prowess, he gained more prominence when he was appointed the Lagos police Public Relations officer. He was fearless, timely with information, truthful and he was accessible this many his name spread like wildfire. He became popular among the newsmakers that anytime there are any issues he is willing to assist this further placed him above his peers and it prepared him for a bigger role in 2014 when former IGP M.D Abubakar appointed him as the Force PRO. When many thought he was going to change; he did maintain his persona and became more accessible as he became the go-to guy in the Police. He is very witty with his oratory strength second to none. This further helped his glorious career as nobody had anything bad to say about him until he was redeployed years ago as the Force PRO by IGP Usman Alkali Baba.

He went off the scene for a while until he was appointed as the Commissioner of Police for Ogun State. He was proactive as men of the Ogun State police command were happy that they have a boss who is a good listener. Within a short while, he recorded unprecedented success as the crime in Ogun state reduced to the barest minimum. His tenure is currently a nightmare to criminals in Ogun as the new Sherriff in town has been a thorn in their flesh. His recent promotion to the rank of Assistant Inspector General of Police is an indication that his years of hard work paid off. His police career and astronomic rise in the police have positioned him for greater challenges and commitment. Sources say; officers of the Ogun Police command are not happy that he would be transferred soon. They enjoyed working with him most especially his ability to give them listening ears also his motivation which has helped them achieve a lot within the short while he took charge. “Governor Dapo Abiodun will also miss him if he is transferred. He is a team player and knows the Policing job like the back of his hand. His ability to proffer solutions to issues and his crisis management skills will remain a blessing to him.”
