The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Anambra State Command in its commitment towards a violence free, credible and fair elections wishes to inform the general public that adequate security arrangements have been made for the forth coming supplementary elections scheduled by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to hold in some parts of Anambra State on Saturday 15th of April,2023.
The State Commandant, Mr. Isidore Chikere stated this at the Command Headquarters Awka on the level of preparedness of the Corps for the exercise . According to him all routes and flash points within the State have been fortified with sufficient patrol teams to protect electorates, electoral materials and INEC staff.
” Our deployment has covered all Polling Units, Collation Centres and INEC offices in areas where the exercise will hold , we have also deployed adequate manpower to ensure orderliness and decorum as directed by the Commandat General. The Command therefore calls on Parents, religious leaders and traditional rulers, to prevail on their children and subjects not to allow themselves to be used to disrupt the electoral process” he concluded.
The Command assures the good people of Anambra State that, the NSCDC will continue to be apolitical throughout the electoral process .
Voters are advised to come out without any fear of harassment or intimidation and exercise their franchise while conducting themselves in accordance with the Nigerian laws.
The Command call on the people of the State to be law abiding and cooperate with security personnel posted to ensure the success of the electoral process.
