The Governor of Anambra State, Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, has expressed deep sorrow and anguish upon receiving the news of the demise of Chief Annie Okonkwo, the former Senator who represented Anambra Central Senatorial District at the National Assembly.
Chief Okonkwo, fondly known as “Okaka Ojoto,” hailed from Ojoto in Idemili South Local Government Area of the State.

In a statement signed by the Press Secretary to the Governor, Christian Aburime, Soludo acknowledged Chief Okonkwo as a distinguished son of Anambra State who had dedicated himself to serving the State, and he mourned the loss of such a remarkable individual.
“On behalf of the Anambra State Government and the entire populace, the Governor offers heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and friends,” Soludo said.
In addition, he prays that the Almighty bestows eternal rest upon the departed soul and grants the grieving family the strength to endure this irreparable loss.
