NAOSNP SALUTES STERLING LIFE OF COAS LT. GEN. LAGBAJA; CONDOLES WITH FAMILY, ARMED FORCES, NATION

 

 

 

The National Association of Online Security News Publishers (NAOSNP) has sends its deepest condolences to Mr. President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Nigeria, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Nigerian Army and the entire Armed Forces, Lt. General Taoreed Lagbaja’s family, colleagues, and loved ones over the passing of the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja due to an undisclosed illness in Lagos.

In their condolences statement e-signed by the National President of the association, Oki O. Samson, the security news beat association hailed the life and times of the well respected officer who played pivotal roles in numerous internal security operations. ‘We salute the sterling life and times of the late Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Taoreed A. Lagbaja whose unfortunate demise happened today. We appreciate his dedication and resilience to the cause of protecting Nigeria from external aggression and maintaining internal security in many theatre of violence across the country, His legacy and commitment to Nigeria’s security will never be forgotten.’

‘This death is a painful one for the family first, to us at NAOSNP and the entire nation as well. We take solace in the fact that the gallant soldier battled tirelessly for the soul of this country and for his soul in the face of illness. We recall his gallantry across the nation both before and during his time as Chief of Army Staff. Some of his successes include Operation ZAKI in Benue State, Lafiya Dole in Borno, Udoka in Southeast Nigeria, and Operation Forest Sanity across Kaduna and Niger States.’

‘May the Lord Almighty grant his soul rest. May the Lord grant his family the fortitude to bear this loss. May the Lord comfort the government led by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and people of Nigeria.’

The 56-year-old Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Taoreed

Lagbaja died today after battling an undisclosed ailment. His distinguished military career began when he enrolled in the Nigerian Defence Academy in 1987. On September 19, 1992, he was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the Nigerian Infantry Corps as a member of the 39th Regular Course. Throughout his service, Lt. General Lagbaja demonstrated exceptional leadership and commitment, serving as a platoon commander in the 93 Battalion and the 72 Special Forces Battalion.

Lt. General Lagbaja is survived by his beloved wife, Mariya, and their two children.
