Deadly Mining Site Raid: Two Policemen Killed, Kidnappers Demand ₦1 Billion RansomKidnappers who seized a Chinese expatriate, Mr. Sam Xie Wie, and his Nigerian colleague, Mr. David Adenaiye, during a violent assault on a mining site in Kwara State, have reportedly demanded a ransom of ₦1 billion for their safe release.

Security analyst Zagazola Makama disclosed the ransom demand on his verified X account on Friday.

The kidnappers allegedly used the victims’ mobile phones to reach out to an associate named Mr. Leo Liang, demanding the hefty ransom in exchange for their freedom.

The abduction occurred on Wednesday amid a brutal attack at the mining site, which also claimed the lives of two Police Mobile Force officers assigned to guard the expatriates.

Makama added that security forces, along with local vigilante groups, have launched an intensive search and rescue operation to recover the kidnapped men safely.
