President Tinubu makes new appointment

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu government has approved the appointment of Dr. kevin Okonna as the interim Rector of Maritime Academy of Nigeria (MAN,) located at Oron, Akwa Ibom.
This was contain in statement released in Uyo today 20 January 2025 by the head of public Affairs at the Academy, Domo Umoekpe.
National message online newspaper leant that the appointment takes immediate effect following the resignation of the former rector Commodore Duja Effedua (rtd).
Umoekpe said the appointment was communicated through a letter from the ministry of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, representing the federal government.
Oyetola encourage the new acting rector to leverage his experience in the maritime industry in his new position.
She added that with this new appointment, the institution will continue to play a significant role in moving the ministry’s vision and renew hope agenda of President Bola Tinubu.
Dr.Kevin Okonna,the new acting rector is a distinguished maritime scholar with 30 year experience in the maritime Academy.
